For the well-being of our residents, our doors are secured after 5:00 p.m. daily until 8:30 a.m. the next day. If you would like to visit outside of routine visiting hours, please

Hearthstone of Northern Nevada has a tenured Director of Nursing that has been with the facility for 15 years, as well as many other staff members caring for its residents for more than 10 years.
The facility has implemented a quality assurance program devoted to improving the care and outcomes of each individual resident. The facility also offers one of the only certified wound nurses in the Reno/Sparks area, who has been with the facility for over 10 years.
A team of therapists, under the direction of an independent physiatrist and orthopedic surgeon develop a plan of care for each patient. We offer Physical, Occupational and Speech therapies. Therapy is offered up to three (3) hours a day and up to six (6) days a week depending on the resident's need and as ordered by their physician.
Certified Wound Nurse - our licensed wound care nurses work seven (7) days a week for residents requiring treatment for complex wounds, including but not limited to post-operative wound sites, diabetic and decubitus ulcers.
With a person-centered approach to our residents' dining experience. Residents are given selective menus daily that allows them a variety of choices for each meal. Our meals are prepared fresh daily and are designed to accommodate all residents, including those with specialized dietary needs or modified texture diets.
Registered Dietician and Culinary Chef. Our registered dietician, culinary chef, and other staff work side by side to provide an elegant and enjoyable dining experience. Our registered dietician has worked in the skilled nursing and rehabilitation field for over 10 years and works closely with our residents to create and follow a diet that will contribute to their rehabilitation and ongoing health. Our culinary chef has also worked in the skilled nursing and rehabilitation field for over 10 years and enjoys dining with our residents on occasion to assure that they are enjoying their dining experience.
Our discharge planning team is dedicated to assure that all of our rehabilitation patients and families are prepared to return to their previous living arrangement or next level of care, through home evaluations and training with both the patients and their families. Hearthstone also employs two full time social workers to provide support and guidance to our long term care residents.
General in-patient hospice/Respite/Regular. At Hearthstone of Northern Nevada we work closely with all hospice providers in the community to assure our residents are comfortable and maintain the highest quality of life with whichever provider they choose.
Hearthstone of Northern Nevada provides various recreational activities to meet each resident's spiritual, social, sensory, cognitive and physical needs. Activities are adjusted to accommodate each resident's level of ability. We provide individualized and group activities. Our recreational program includes music, arts, crafts, games, religious services and outings. Residents receive a monthly calendar of events and reminders so they can participate in events. Activities help bring residents together and greatly improve their quality of life.
